Double-Blind Matching
Your name, email, and company are never visible to other attendees unless both parties mutually agree to connect.
Encrypted in Transit
All data between your device and our servers is encrypted via TLS 1.3. API calls require authenticated tokens.
No Data Selling
We never sell, share, or trade your personal data with third parties. Your profile data powers only your matches.
Data Retention Limits
Event-specific data is retained for 90 days after an event ends. You can request deletion at any time.
Event Medium processes your profile information — including your role, focus areas, themes, and conversation data from Nev — to generate intelligent matches. Here's exactly what happens with your data:
- Profile data (stakeholder type, themes, focus areas) is used to create a semantic embedding — a mathematical representation that enables matching without exposing raw text to other users.
- Conversation data with Nev is processed to extract structured intents and preferences. Raw conversation text is not stored long-term.
- Match scoring happens server-side. Other users never see your profile details — only a match score and anonymized description until mutual reveal.
- Messages between mutual matches are stored encrypted and accessible only to the two parties involved.
- Calendar invites are generated as Google Calendar URLs — we don't access or store your calendar data.

- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you at any time.
- Correction: Update or correct your profile information through your canister or by contacting us.
- Deletion: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Portability: Export your match history and messages in a standard format.
- Opt out: Disable matching at any time from your profile settings. Your data remains but is excluded from all matching algorithms.
Event organizers using Event Medium receive aggregated, anonymized demand signals — theme interest levels, stakeholder type distribution, and geographic diversity — but never individual attendee profiles or identities. Organizer dashboards show trends, not people.
Organizers cannot:
- See individual attendee names, emails, or companies
- Access conversations between matched attendees
- Override the double-blind matching process
- Export attendee personal data
We process your personal data under the following lawful bases (GDPR Article 6):
- Consent: You explicitly consent to matching when you create a profile and attend an event.
- Legitimate interest: We process anonymized signals for platform improvement and event intelligence.
- Contract: Processing necessary to provide the matching service you've signed up for.
For users in the EU/EEA, UK, and other jurisdictions with data protection laws, all rights under the applicable regulations are fully respected.
